Présence Continue is a proof-of-concept ambient telepresence service. This page explains what information we collect and how it is used.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We also store the content you add to the service: photos you upload (slideshow photos, the household avatar, photos attached to messages) and activity details (visitor names, message texts, appointment titles and locations). To keep the service reliable, the apps send operational telemetry events (event name, timestamp, and a device or frame identifier — never message content, audio, or video) to our server for diagnostics; you can turn this off on any device by setting the browser local-storage key "coucou-telemetry-disable" to "true". We do not record or store audio or video calls.

Where your data is stored

Your account data, activity content, and telemetry events are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (Frankfurt, EU). Uploaded photos are stored in Vercel Blob storage. The service runs on Vercel (Frankfurt region). Video and audio are relayed through a self-hosted LiveKit server on Hetzner (Germany, EU) and are not recorded.

A note on audio

In this proof-of-concept, audio is transmitted unfiltered. An audio-blur feature is planned for a future version.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and all associated data, remove your account from the dashboard settings, or contact us at the address below.
